How to Have it All: by delivering on the promises you make to yourself by Christina Guidotti

“The secret to having it all is to know that you already do.”

This is not New York best seller or a highly recognised book however the content is pretty cool. Christina is a businesswoman turn life-coach and is certainly not another overnight coach claiming to being able to transform others lives.

She has great experience in business as well as solid knowledge and life practices herself that help her lead a life that she desires. In this book she shares and delivers a great deal of information that can help you create and live with greater success.

There is not particular niche focus within the pages of this book but rather a broad focus on the key principles that you can adopt to ensure you create a life in which you have it all.

For those of you into personal transformation then much of the content in this book you will likely be familiar with. For others just starting out on their personal transformational journey or looking to make some change and create more momentum in their life, then this book is a great starting point.

063: Book Reflections| Organize Tomorrow Today: 8 Ways to Retrain Your Mind to Optimize Performance at Work and in Life by Dr. Jason Selk

Organize Tomorrow Today: 8 Ways to Retrain Your Mind to Optimize Performance at Work and in Life by Dr. Jason Selk

“A good plan violently executed now, is better than a perfect plan executed next week.” George S. Patton

As pitched on the back cover of this book, is the idea that success is spawned out of having and maintaining effective habits rather than innate talents. When I think on this and ponder what this truly means, I feel refreshed.

Isn’t it great to know that we can all create our own successful lives by simply adopting effective habits? Well perhaps not always so simple but certainly achievable none the less.

In this book the authors discuss the idea of planning or organizing tomorrow, today. Again simple in thought and theory yet to put into practice is challenging and certainly something I must improve on myself. Yet the benefits can and will be significant.

058: Book Reflections| Abundance Now: Amplify Your Life & Achieve Prosperity Today by Lisa Nichols

Abundance Now: Amplify Your Life & Achieve Prosperity Today by Lisa Nichols

“Abundance is when you are living a life that you love and loving the life that you are living.” Lisa Nichols

Is your cup half-full or half-empty? Abundance is a mindset and we have the power to live a life of abundance or conversely, live a life of scarcity.

As Lisa describes in this book abundance is not something available for purchase but rather something we tap into, develop, cultivate and grow.

This means we can all live rich and abundant lives but what does that really mean.

Lisa’s definition of abundance is when you are living a life that you love and loving the life that you are living.

Abundance is having a large quantity of something, anything. In regards to abundance in the context of life it relates to your prosperity, hence the subtitle of Lisa’s book.

This book is a recipe for productivity. It will help you become more disciplined and focused in achieving all that you desire on your journey to living with greater passion and purpose.

The idea of dominating your day before breakfast is not a new one but is currently a little bit trendy. I feel it’s like the next meditation wave.

048: Book Reflections| The ONE Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results by Gary Keller

The ONE Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results by Gary Keller

Extraordinary results are directly determined by how narrow you can make your focus. -Gary Keller

This is a must read and what I love about this book is that its purpose is very aligned with its key message and that is to focus on just one thing.

If you are like me you struggle to juggle the complexity of everything in life, from managing business and work to spending more time with friends and family.

For those entrepreneurial types out there you will surely be frustrated by the multitude of things you have to do on any given day and most likely struggle to handle the amount of projects or even ideas that you have.

With all the distractions in life that we face daily to handling all our goals and desires the biggest challenge is often then focus. To have focus!

Losing My Virginity- the Autobiography by Richard Branson

“You only live once, and I just don’t want to waste a minute of my life.” Richard Branson

I have been meaning to read this biography for years. I remember closer to when I finished school looking up to Richard and all his success, and telling myself I must read his biography and learn what he does.

Life got in the way, I got side tracked and to be truthful getting through a book that long back than would have given me headaches just thinking about it.

Now I have read it and I tell you what, it feels good. Not because I achieved it but more so the information and insight I have experienced as Richard shares all, in his life’s journey.

038: Book Reflections| The 10X Rule: The Only Difference Between Success and Failure by Grant Cardone

The 10X Rule: The Only Difference Between Success and Failure by Grant Cardone

“As long as you are alive, you will either live to accomplish your own goals and dreams or be used as a resource to accomplish someone else’s.” Grant Cardone

This is the first book by Grant Cardone I have read and actually the truth is I listened to this one and loved it. Audio is a great way to consume more when your on the go, and if I can listen to one book every fortnight that is one book more and that equates to an additional 25 books a year.

All the successful people in this world read and listen to educational material in order to continually learn and they never stop their efforts to do so, ever!

What I loved about this book is that Grant himself read it which is important I think when it comes to audio books because the message is conveyed better than having someone else read it and with more energy, passion and purpose.

033: Book Reflections| A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose by Eckhart Tolle

A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose by Eckhart Tolle

“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation, but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle

The sub-tittle captures the essence of the message in this book and that is to awaken by bringing around a shift in consciousness. It is an extension upon his work from his earlier book The Power of Now. I have written a book review on this also that may be worth a read – essentially it was a spiritual insight into the benefits that can come by being present in the moment.

In this book I was captured from the start. I actually begin with the audio book but found the narration rather bland and knew that I would absorb much more if I read the book.

Poke the Box: When Was the Last Time You Did Something for the First Time? by Seth Godin

“The job isn’t to catch up to the status quo; the job is to invent the status quo.”

Seth inspires me so much in life to really live truthfully to myself and live a life that I desire to lead. This book is another kick in the bum, motivational & inspiring push to further challenge what I thought life meant and what I do with it.

We are not all going to be, as he describes it, the initiator, but certainly it seems to be a major strength in this day and age. It relates to both the aspiring success of an individual, and the continual improvement, development and innovation behind successful companies.

023: Book Reflections| The Motivation Manifesto: 9 Declarations to Claim Your Personal Power by Brendon Burchard

The Motivation Manifesto: 9 Declarations to Claim Your Personal Power by Brendon Burchard

“Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth.” John F. Kennedy

If there were one book I would recommend you read to start off your year it would be this one. I ended the year reading it but could easily read it again.

The thought provoking content, the motivation, the inspirational energy and the burning desire it has sparked within are still hanging with me now.

If you are in a place of darkness or just stuck in some limiting form of life, which I understand for the majority, it is the case, then this book has the power to transform you and push you to taking action and control of your life and your destiny.

This is my top read of 2015. Simple and to the point, motivationally purposeful, thought provokingly insightful, ground breaking, powerful and transformational.
