Hustle: The Power to Charge Your Life with Money, Meaning, and Momentum by Neil Patel, Patrick Vlaskovits & Jonas Koffler

To hustle or not to hustle, perhaps there is no in-between. I have my own thoughts on this word and am still not sure if I actually like it. It’s not the word itself  but perhaps the context and manner in which it is used – I think it’s too trendy and can relay an incorrect message. I share my thoughts in this book reflection.

The term hustle to me means to work freaking hard, in a forceful way, to have greater achievement. I believe that if taken too literally it may find people living to viciously in the future and therefor missing our the benefits of being present and now. I also believe that if we enjoy what we do the term loses its meaning. When you do what you love it becomes less forceful, no matter how hard or how long the hours that you dedicate to your art. The Prosperous Coach: Increase Income and Impact for You and Your Clients by Steve Chandler and Rich Litvin

Each person holds so much power within themselves that needs to be let out. Sometimes they just need a little nudge, a little direction, a little support, a little coaching, and the greatest things can happen. Pete Carroll

Are you a coach or interested in starting a coaching practice? If so, this is a fantastic place to start. What I really enjoyed about this book is clutter free and a no bullshit guide to coaching. The authors describe it as a book for those already earning 6 figures and up from their coaching business or those just starting out. As a coach myself I found it tremendously insightful and would listening to again. And no matter your experience as a coach there is always something new to learn.

I listened to this as an Audio book and that was narrated by the authors themselves, which I like as I think it helps keep the messages true. Each chapter is brief and to the point, almost like a dot form presentation – no extra fluff needed. (more…)

177: Leigh Martinuzzi| 3 Minute Thought: Ready, Fire, Aim & Why in Action You Can Perfect Your Art

This is a great way to approach life and all that you want to achieve. The idea is really to start taking action and stop waiting for the perfect time. For many of us this is how we go about living life. It’s neither wrong or right but if you truly want to accomplish those goals and desires you have then the ready, fire, aim approach may be a better way to go.

To often do we dream and create desires and then our almost natural way of proceeding is to ready ourselves, aim at what we want by planning, setting ourselves up but then never actually get to taking true action.

There are a number of obstacles stopping us in this approach. Firstly, when we get to the “aiming” stage we tend to procrastinate. We hesitate for a number of reasons. This may include our limiting beliefs, a belief that what we want to accomplish is not within our ability or another reason is that we are just waiting for a perfect moment.

“The moment that you feel, just possibly, you are walking down the street naked, exposing too much of your heart and your mind, and what exists on the inside, showing too much of yourself…That is the moment, you might be starting to get it right.” Neil Gaiman
